Tummy to Toes – Revitalize Tired Feet & Legs

May 31st, 2007

Tummy to Toes
I have had itchy legs for most of this pregnancy. This ‘lotion’ has taken me from waking up in the morning with sores from scratching in my sleep to smooth legs.

The scent is very light and fresh. The product doesn’t contain any petroleum, lanolin or parabens, so the smell comes from the oils (wheat germ, aloe vera, almond, jojoba, avocado, etc).
I would recommend this product to friends and family.

I also believe it lives up to the promises on the label to help with
revitalizing tired feet and legs.

Pros: Works as promised and smells great.
Cons: Price, but it works!

Your Baby Can Read

May 29th, 2007

Your Baby Can ReadI was a little skeptical of this product because it advertises that it can help babies from 3 months to 5 years. My son is 3 1/2 and he LOVED the video and flash cards that came with the Intro DVD. The video mainly shows words, like “Clap”. An adult says the word, and then a child says the word, and then they show a baby acting out the word, like a baby clapping. Near the end of the video they also do word games that test if the child can differentiate between words like “dog” and “cat”. My son watched this video 4 times in the first two days we had it. It’s nice because it’s repetitive, but short, only 32 minutes long.

He liked the cards it came with even more. I liked the way they are different from ordinary flash cards that have words on the front and pictures on the back. These have a word on each side and you pull the edge to reveal a picture. For my son, seeing the picture became the reward for reading the word. After just a couple of weeks, he is able to read all the words on the cards. He even recognizes them in different settings and is much more interested in letters and the words they form than he was before this video.

I don’t know how it would work with younger babies in terms of reading, but I do think it could help with talking and learning words. It definitely can’t hurt…and it really is a lot of fun!

Dr. Bobby Shampoo

May 24th, 2007

Dr Bobby Shampoo

Dr. Bobby Shampoo is a children’s shampoo that is  free of dyes and fragrances. It comes in a large bottle holding 9 oz. The bottle has a pump that releases the shampoo in a thick foam. The shampoo lives up to its claims of being a safe, gentle and fun product for children. I like that you only need 2 or 3 pumps worth of the foam. My 2 year old loved the bubbles and the thick lather that it created. Even though it doesn’t have dyes or fragrances, it does have a nice. light clean scent. My 2 year old has very sensitive skin and he didn’t experience any negative effects from using it. I even used it on my 3 month old and it worked great for him too. I really liked this product and would consider using other products of the same line.

Cons: price

Sassabies Belly Wrap

May 15th, 2007

The Sassabies belly wrap is a wardrobe extender for any woman who is pregnant. I got the belly wrap when I was already measuring 36 weeks with a twin pregnancy. So most woman are about ready to give birth with a belly as big as mine. The belly wrap could be used when you are newly pregnant too. If you had a pair of favorite jeans but couldn’t button them anymore you could wear the belly wrap as a belt to keep your pants up for the next couple of months. I am using mine because I am between a Medium and a Large in maternity clothes. I love my Medium pants but they are too tight if I pull the waistband to my belly, so instead of pulling these pants up I leave them down around my hips and put on the belly wrap to keep the pants up. If I wear some of the large maternity pants now, they fall down. So the belly wrap comes in handy for keeping the large pants up too.
FeetMy favorite belly wrap is the black one with the feet. I wear it with thin shirts and you can see the shadow of the feet through the shirts. I just wish it had two sets of feet since I am pregnant with twins.
Another thing about the belly wrap is that it does have a seam, so if you are sensitive to materials against your belly you probably would be better off using it over your shirt and pants. I hope this helps anyone interested in buying the product.

Moby D Wrap

May 10th, 2007

When I first opened the Moby D Wrap I was a little intimidated for it looked like a big piece of cloth. That was until I opened up the instruction booklet on how to put it on, which was really informative, and had great pictures.

The booklet shows you how to put the wrap on for the different holds for newborns, babies that are 3,4,6,12,17,20 months, for twins, how to nurse, and even exercise with the Moby on. It was so easy to put on. I fell in love with the design, and how comfortable it was to wear. You can even order a small one for your daughter to play with her dolls.

I went to Wal-Mart, and was stopped by a lady who said that she liked the way the Moby looks on me and how comfortable it looks (which I told her it was), and then she asked if one can use the wrap with twins, and I said yes, and showed her how, and she asked where I bought it for she wanted to get one since she had 3 month old twins, and I told her that she can go to MobyWrap.com and order one there or she can look for aretailer near her on their site.

Baby Emi Jewelry

May 7th, 2007

One word can describe the "Bella Bella" Baby Emi Bracelet I received: pretty! From the cute box and ribbon bow (pink and black respectively) to the beautiful Swarovski crystal (clear-colored) beads and mini-pearls the bracelet was beautifully crafted. The bracelet has Ava’s name spelled out on Sterling silver blocks and is finished with a lobster clasp shaped like a heart. We tested the 12-18 month size and it fit Ava very well (she is currently 10 months old).
Family and friends found the bracelet adorable. Baby Emi Jewelry is on my "short list" as a gift for our soon-to-arrive niece.

This bracelet will definitely be a part of Ava’s outfit for her upcoming 1 year photos!

Tummy Honey Butter (Stretch Mark Prevention)

May 3rd, 2007

I am 26 weeks pregnant with twins and have used this product for the last 3 weeks.
I do not notice any new stretch marks, since using this product. I switched from a popular brand, sold at maternity stores to this product because of the texture and smell. The texture is like honey butter, so no hard wax surface to dig into to get the product on your stomach like others. The butter does not have any petroleum, lanolin or parabens. It is an oil based product. I apply it in the morning and evening and have had great luck not itching so much during the day.
I like the smell because it seems very natural and light. I also like being itch free and stretch mark free. I would definitely recommend this to family and friends who are pregnant.

Pros: Relieves itching, light & natural smell, great texture
Cons: None
Ease of Use: Easy!
